All About Mr. NelmanHi everyone and welcome to my classroom website. My name is Keith Nelman and it is a privilege to be able to have your kids in my technology driven science class. This is my 24th year of teaching. I really enjoy teaching in Cuyahoga Falls because this is where I grew up. I went to Price Elementary School, Sill Middle School and then to the High School. I played basketball, and ran track and cross-country at Cuyahoga Falls High School where I graduated in 1994. After graduation I went to Malone University in Canton,Ohio where I studied Elementary Education and graduated in 1999. I received my Master's Degree in 2010 from Kent State University.

Why I Teach |
While at Malone I chose Education as my major because I wanted to make a difference in young kids lives like some of the great teachers I had. I didn't really like school that much growing up but when I had a teacher who cared and made learning fun it made the world of difference. When I had a teacher who believed in me that was when I succeeded the most. They inspired me to do the same. I came back to my own community because I love it here and have a lot of pride for this town. When I was hired I was asked why would I like to teach in the city I grew up in and I answered because "I bleed Black and Gold."

Track and Field Career |
I have been involved in Sports all my life. I believe sports and competition help in all aspects of life. Sports teach you perseverance, teamwork, and discipline. It really helped mold me into what I am today. I had the privilege at Malone to be on the Track and Field team and to be coached by some of the best coaches in the nation. I also had the privilege to be teammates with some of the best athletes in the nation. It is there where I learned that if you work hard, believe in yourself and have others that believe in you, anything is possible. I ran the high hurdles for the Malone Pioneers and I was very blessed to be able to compete at a national level. I qualified to the National meets (indoor and outdoor) 6 times and received All-American Honors 3 times. One of my records still exists today.
I was very blessed to be around such great people and friends. My teammates and I all came from different backgrounds and became the best of friends. That is what I value the most about my experience at Malone and being on those teams. Perseverance, teamwork, and discipline is what makes my classroom successful just as it did when I was competing. |

When I am not spending time with my family or teaching I enjoy working out, working on home projects, and of course watching the Ohio State Buckeyes football team.
